Hollister School District officials approved a budget reduction plan last night in an effort to offset a 5.5 million dollar projected budget deficit by the year 2013. The new plan includes doing away with the elementary music program and eliminating at least 10 staff positions, specifically to the library. Last night’s decision follows a staff lay-off in August which affected 70 teachers in the district, resulting to larger class sizes of up to 40 kids in each class.
