A fatality in a car accident on Friday was the result of a heart attack, not the wreck itself. An autopsy performed by the Monterey County Coroner suggests that 69-year-old Patricia Ann Pettit suffered the cardiac arrest before she lost control of her vehicle at Highway-183 and Espinosa Road. The former Seaside resident is believed to have died prior crashing into a delivery truck at 7 a.m. That driver was taken to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment.
