BIG SUR CRASH COURT APPEARANCE 12-01-10 08:30 a.v.

3 Monterey County residents appeared for the first time in court yesterday  in connection with a crash last month in Big Sur, which left a local photographer partially paralyzed. A not guilty plea to charges of hit-and-run-driving while causing injury, was entered by the driver of the vehicle in the crash, 30-year old Myles Lerner. Lerners’ girlfriend 28-year old Vanessa Hacker and passenger 26-year old Joseph McEvoy, were arraigned on charges alleging they aided Lerner in evading arrest after he fled from the scene. Lerner turned himself into authorities 12 days after the crash. An attorney for Lerner said a concussion was the reason why he wandered away from the accident. A preliminary hearing has been set for December 9th.
