Pacific Grove city council members are expected to finalize a vote tonight which would consider expanding a smoking ban in the city. Tonight’s vote comes after the city approved plans last month to prevent cigarette smokers from lighting up at waterfronts, parks, recreational areas and buildings. Council members hope to preserve beach fronts by spanning the ban to include beaches as well. Tonight’s closed session meeting is slated to begin at 5:15 while the regular session is slated for 6 at the Council Chambers in City Hall located at 300-Forest Avenue in Pacific Grove.
