Fraud Investigation 11/26/10 7:15am TDH

Law enforcement agencies have begun investigating a case of suspected fraud, perpetrated at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.   School officials recently discovered that an instructor of a series of workshops had falsified his resume.  School officials say a complaint has not been filed with any police agency, however the F.B.I. and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the matter.  The F.B.I. became involved after it was discovered that the instructor, Bill Hillar, had used a similar story elsewhere in the country, to be hired as an expert on human trafficking.
