2 Monterey County residents were sentenced to jail Friday for identification theft and elder abuse. 22-year old Amanda Spears of Pacific Grove has been ordered to serve 340 days in Monterey County Jail for charges of elder abuse, possession of stolen property, burglary and misdemeanor theft charges after she reportedly stole personal identification information from an 85-year old woman suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s disease. 22-year old Theodore Alexander Lopez of Pebble Beach is expected to serve a lesser sentence for conspiring with Spears to use the victim’s identification to open and use credit cards.
