An investigation continues into several high water bills that were sent to 2 different Monterey County Residents recently. A Carmel Valley, resident and Cal-Am water customer, received a water bill for over $8, 200 where the usual monthly water bill averages $200. Meanwhile, a Pacific Grove resident received a water bill amounting to over $2,600, reflecting a usage of 70-thousand gallons of water, the equivalent to at least 5 swimming pools. Cal-Am officials say in both cases, the high rate may be attributed to a water leak. Currently Cal-Am is working with both families on resolving this issue.
