A lock down that involved 3 Salinas schools this afternoon, ended after a man, who barricaded himself inside a nearby home, was detained. Frank Paul and Cesar Chavez Elementary Schools along with La Paz Middle School were placed on lock down for about 3 hours after a suspicious man was seen going door to door on the 900 block of La Mancha Way, when he broke into one of the homes and locked himself inside after officers arrived at 11 a.m. The unarmed man was forced out of the home after a K-9 unit found him hiding in an attic. Streets in the neighborhood were reopened by 2 p.m., the man was taken to Monterey County Jail after being treated at an area hospital.
