Police in Salinas are investigating a vehicle theft yesterday morning that contained equipment with radioactive substances. Police say a moisture density gauge was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Rainer Drive just before 9 a.m. The gauge, called a Troxler 34-40, was in a yellow case about 18-inches tall, 16-inches deep and 34-inches wide, and contains small amounts of Cesium 137 and Americium 241.
