NO PLEA IN WVILLE STORE OWNER MURDER 11-01-10 05:30 a.v.
A 17-year old charged with killing a Watsonville grocery store owner, refrained from entering a plea Friday. Christian Speaker is accused of fatally shooting the owner of the Fiesta Latino Market, Yahya Ahmed during a robbery nearly 2-weeks ago. Speaker is expected to be tried as an adult, however special circumstance allows for the death penalty, which was being considered but because of his age, prosecutors are leaning towards life in prison without parole instead. Speaker is due back in court this Friday.
