Sal Shots 10/24/10 TDH
A shooting in Salinas on Friday evening hospitalized a teenager. The 14-year-old boy was airlifted to a Bay Area Trauma Center in serious condition, after he and another teen were assaulted as they walked to a football game. The 2-were confronted by the passenger of a Honda, which had stopped near the victims as they walked on Nantucket Boulevard and Newcastle Way. Several shots were fired, and while 1 teen was not hit, the 14-year-old was struck in the lower torso. Police believe the incident was gang-motivated, however they do not believe the victims are affiliated with a gang. Police are still searching for the suspects, who fled in the Honda, and are believed to be juveniles.
