The body of a homeless woman, who was found lying beside Highway-1 near Scott Creek earlier this month, has been identified. Authorities say, the woman, 59-year old Karen Cook, died of natural causes. Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies have determined that the sheet the woman was found wrapped in on October 8th, was being worn as a type of cape, and the knife found lying underneath her, was not related to her death. Cook died at Dominican Hospital within an hour of being discovered.
