CHOMP LAYOFFS 10-20-10 09:30 a.v.

As part of increased cost-cutting moves, nearly 4-dozen Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula employees are expected to be laid off tomorrow. Hospital officials say 43 employees including nurses, nutritionists, lab workers and security personnel will be laid off as part of an effort to cut 21-million dollars in spending. The recent round of layoffs follows an earlier round in the spring that included 20-layoffs, including 11 involuntary and 30 early retirements.
