Police in Watsonville are investigating a fatal shooting that took place during a robbery attempt this afternoon. The 1 p.m. shooting occurred at the Fiesta Latino Market at Beck and Center streets when the gunman went into the market, talked to the clerk, walked out of the market, then returned, demanded cash and then fatally shot the clerk. Police are searching for a white male in his 20’s with a blonde or brown shaved head, heavyset, about 6-feet tall. This is Watsonville’s 1st murder this year, and 15th in the county.
