Salinas business incentives 10-18-10 1600 e.a.

The first projects resulting from an incentive package in the city of Salinas have been announced.  A four-story Hampton Inn and a 159-thousand-square-foot Lowe’s home improvement store are moving forward due to reduced fees and shared taxes, that are part of an incentive package that was approved in July.  Between the two projects, about 125 jobs are expected to be created within the city.  Among the incentives included in the package are a reduction in building fees, a reduction in property taxes for a set number of years, and the establishment of a revolving-loan fund.
