A program has been launched at Gault Elementary School to log the number of days students ride their bikes or walk to school. The Boltage program, which began in 2004, seeks to combat childhood obesity as well as decreasing the amount of cars on the roadway. Students are issued a tag that registers when they when they pass by a solar powered reader box on the playground. Prizes are given to students who log the most walked or biked trips to school. About 160 of the 419 students have signed up. For more information, visit www.boltage.com
