A fine has been imposed by the city of Watsonville to P-G-and-E after a SmartMeter was installed at a Westridge business park. The 100 dollar fine comes as a result of a violation of a moratorium on SmartMeters in the city of Watsonville. P-G-and-E has no intention of paying the fine, saying that state law trumps an ordinance passed by the city. Several California jurisdictions, including Capitola and Santa Cruz County have passed temporary bans on the SmartMeters.
