The police department at C-S-U Monterey Bay named a new police chief this week. 39-year old Earl Lawson who joined the department in 1995 as an officer, was officially announced Monday as the new chief. Lawson has been serving in an interim capacity after Chief Fred Hardee retired in June. According to University president, Dianne Harrison, Lawson’s experience and collaboration with the local law enforcement agencies were some of the factors leading to his new role.
