An autopsy was conducted today after a body was found inside the trunk of a torched vehicle in rural South Monterey County yesterday. Firefighters responded to a report of a car fire last night in the area of Priest Valley off Highway 198 between San Lucas and Coalinga and found the remains of a woman’s body in the trunk. Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies are said to be treating this case as a homicide.
