FORMER FORT ORD BURN – UPDATED 2 10-08-10 06:20 a.v.
A prescribed burn, to clear unexploded ammunition, took place yesterday morning on the Former Fort Ord. Roughly 110-acres burned for about 2-hours until just before noon at Burn Unit 21. The Presidio of Monterey Fire Department is said to be monitoring the area, through this morning. A 2nd prescribed burn of about 167 acres may also take place today at Burn Unit 15 for about 2 hours, weather permitting.
