S.J.P.D. 7.1 MIL GRANT 10-06-10 06:45 a.v.
The San Jose Police Department is set to receive a grant that is expected to create and preserve law enforcement jobs. The 7.1 million dollar grant is expected to fund the salaries and benefits for 16-entry level police officers for 3-years. Officials say the grant can also be applied to rehire officers who have been laid-off, or are slated to be laid-off as a result of local budget cuts.
