NATION-WIDE TRAVEL ALERT 10-04-10 07:00 a.v.
A rare travel alert was issued yesterday warning Americans of potential terrorist threats in Europe. The advisory alerts U.S. citizens living or traveling in Europe to be vigilant in public places. The travel alert follows an arrest made in early September in Naples Italy of a 28-year old Algerian man suspected of having links to an Al-Qaida affiliate recruiting fighters for Afghanistan. The alert noted in particular “the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructures”.
