Yesterday, Governor Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law, which guarantees California community college students admission to Cal-State schools. The Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act ensures that students who complete 60-units at a community college, will be admitted to a Cal-State school, (although not necessarily the one they choose). The act was approved unanimously by both the Assembly and Senate. The change is estimated to save 160-million dollars a year, by ensuring students aren’t taking too many classes before transferring.
