SO. SANTA CLARA CO. MOTH QUARANTINE 09-24-10 07:45 a.v.

A 93-acre square mile quarantine of grapes in South Santa Clara County has been enforced after 3-European grapevine moths were recently discovered. The eradication plan, which was announced by the Santa Clara County Ag Commissioner, requires that all bulk grapes, harvest bins and equipment may not leave the quarantined area. The moths were found near Watsonville and Day Roads last week. The boundaries of the proposed quarantine in Santa Clara County will include Llagas Road in Morgan Hill on the North, Foothill Avenue and New Avenue in Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy on the East, Miller Avenue in Gilroy on the South, and the Santa Clara/Santa Cruz County line on the West.
