Paving work on Highway 25 from the San Benito County line to Highway-101 and on Highway-156 from the county line to Highway-152, started today. The work, which is expected to last well into the end of October, will be done before and after commute hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday though Thursday evenings. Construction work includes grinding out existing surfaces and replacing it with a new layer of asphalt, installing rumble strips on the centerline in all the locations, and building dikes on shoulders for better drainage.
