A moratorium was passed this morning in Santa Cruz that bans the installation of SmartMeters in unincorporated areas of the county. The moratorium, which was unanimously approved by Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors, is said to help provide the county with more time to gather information about health and safety issues which have been a concern to many area residents over the past months. The new ordinance is slated to take place through the end of the year.
