The City of Santa Cruz Public Works Department will begin work next week on repairing a sewer main in the downtown area. Construction work is slated to start Monday September 13th and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. The work will consist of replacing the sewer main and manhole on May Street between Water Street to Hubbard Avenue. Residents and businesses will be able to continue to use their plumbing during construction. Street parking will be prohibited during construction hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and traffic will be restricted to local traffic only.
