POSS.STATE PARKS FACILITIES CLOSURE 09-10-10 09:00 a.v.

Monterey County State Parks officials warn that if California continues without a budget, park visitors may be soon have do without restrooms and other basic services. A Monterey sector state parks superintendent announced yesterday that budget-related issues are already affecting various operations at state parks. At Carmel River State Beach, restrooms were closed Tuesday after service was cutoff by Cal-Am water due to unpaid water bills. Officials fear that other accounts with the water utility, will affect the closure of other facilities since an arrangement has yet to be worked out with Cal-Am.
