3-UCSC researchers have been awarded grants of 10-thousand dollars each, to help fund their continuing cancer-research efforts. The money is being given by the local charity The Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group. The researchers are Camilla Forsberg, who researches leukemia, Lindsay Hinck, who studies breast cancer, and Seth Rubin, who studies how a particular protein interacts with cancerous cells. The Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group has supported cancer-research since 2005. The charity is set to hold its 7th annual fundraiser— Gourmet Grazing on the Green—on Saturday, September 25th, at Aptos Village Park. More information can be found online at www.sccbg.org.
