LIFE SENTENCE/SOLEDAD PRISON GUARD 08-27-10 11:25 a.v.
A former Soledad prison guard was sentenced to life in prison today. Former correctional officer with Salinas Valley State Prison, 39-year old Timothy Rodriguez was found guilty for hiring an undercover officer, who was posing as a hit man, to kill his former girlfriend. After 2 days of testimony in a bench trial, Rodriguez was found guilty of attempted first degree murder and solicitation of murder. Rodriguez is expected to be under protective custody, and away from the general population of the prison.
