MCO. SUICIDE ATTEMPT RESCUE 08-27-10 10:15 a.v.

A man was rescued this week in Monterey County after driving off a cliff in a suicide attempt. A search and rescue unit responded Tuesday at around 12:30 p.m. to a report that a motorist had driven off Laureles Grade near Carmel Valley. The man, who received minor cuts and bruises, was pulled from the vehicle, which ended up in thick brush about 500 feet below. He was taken to the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for a 72-hour mental health observation hold.
