3 fires broke out in San Jose in less than two hours this morning, including one that destroyed a home. The first fire occurred just before 4 a.m. when the 1-alarm blaze damaged a mixing and asphalt machine at a road construction business. The 2nd fire was reported over an hour later at a home near the 1st fire, and then a 3-alarm fire was reported just minutes later. The home’s resident says she was returning home from a walk with her dog around 5:10 a.m. when she heard a loud boom and saw smoke. A severed gas line is believed to have caused the blaze, which destroyed the home.
