After a unanimous vote yesterday, the city of Salinas will now host an anti-gang operation center in hopes of decreasing the area’s gang activity. The headquarters will be shared with county, state and federal law enforcement partners which include, among several, the Monterey County Joint Gang Task Force, the F-B-I, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigrations Customs Enforcement, the California Department of Justice Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, the Bureau of Alcohol, and Tobacco and Firearms. The F-B-I is expected to cover the full cost of rent and utilities for the Center.
