The Salinas City Council is set to vote on whether the city will be the new home for a federal and local gang task force. If tomorrow’s vote is approved, the city will enter into a lease agreement for office space for a Joint Law Enforcement Operations Center, which would house members of the Monterey County Joint Gang Task Force. The task force includes F-B-I, Drug Enforcement Administration and agents from other federal agencies, as well as state and local law enforcement officers.
