An informational luncheon was held in Marina yesterday alerting Salinas-area Landlords and property managers to the signs that a potential tenant may be a gang member. A lesson on identifying tattoos, colors and hallmarks of gangs was provided during a meeting held at Kula Ranch Restaurant where experts, such as Salinas Police Chief Louis Fetherolf, and members of the Monterey County Joint Gang Task Force spoke about gang issues. Attendees were also encouraged to work closely with local law enforcement agencies in establishing neighborhood watch programs.
