MONT. BAY TANK UNDERGOES REPAIRS 08-18-10 12:00 a.v.

The Outer Bay Tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium is about to close for repairs soon. The exhibit, which is home to the aquarium’s sharks, tuna and sardines, will be closed for nearly a year when repairs are expected to begin on August. 30th. The closure is necessary in making the exhibit more inhabitable, by replacing the current tiles, that are now lining the inside of the tank, with a new set of Fiberglass ones, while also expanding it to add different animals in the future. The animals, who currently reside inside the exhibit, will be relocated to the Aquarium’s Care Center in Marina until the tank reopens next June.
