SLEEPING BAN ARREST/CITATIONS 08-17-10 19:00 a.v.
5 people, including a child molester, were arrested and 10 others were cited this week during a sleeping ban protest in Santa Cruz. 3 people were arrested under the state’s anti-lodging law, another person was arrested for public intoxication, and 29-year old convicted child molester and local transient Mark Greer was arrested Tuesday for violating the state’s lodging law during an ongoing demonstration on the Santa Cruz city hall lawn. Protesters with Peace Camp 2010, have been demonstrating since July 4th. The group is calling for an end to the city ordinance that prohibits camping outside between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.
