A man who died last week while scuba diving in Mendocino County has been identified as a Watsonville native. 31-year-old Joseph Paul Ramirez, Junior encountered trouble while diving and spear fishing near Fort Bragg last tuesday. His dive-partner was unable to help him, and went for help, however Ramirez had died by the time it arrived. Ramirez had been living in Reno, Nevada, and much of his family remained on the central coast. A service is planned to be held on friday, from 1 to 6 p.m., at The Church of the Nazarene, located at 710 Green Valley Road, in Watsonville.
