Monterey County sheriff Mike Kanalakis announced today that Prunedale resident 33-year old Jesse Crow left a suicide note behind before he was found hanging in his jail cell over the weekend. The letter reportedly had to do with the disposition of Crow’s personal property. Meanwhile the Monterey County coroner’s office has announced that autopsy results confirm that Crow died from asphyxia (from hanging). Investigators say Crow killed himself early Saturday morning by using a sheet as a makeshift rope while being held in a single lockdown cell at the Monterey County jail.
