An Aptos Junior High School teacher pleaded not guilty to all charges today after having been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year old female student. 60-year old Steven Sande faces 20-counts of sex crimes, including continuous abuse of a child, lewd acts with a child, creating and possessing child pornography, sending lewd matter to a child over the internet, and arranging a meeting with a child for sexual purposes. The charges carry a possible prison term of up to 30 years. Sande, who was the victim’s math teacher, also sent school officials a letter of resignation last week, effective August 17th. A preliminary hearing date has been set for November 15th.
