HOLLISTER EAGLE FIRE – UPDATED 08-04-10 05:30 a.v.

Officials with Cal-Fire report no containment has been reached yet for a fire burning in San Benito County. The fire broke out at around 5 p.m. at the Eagle Recycling Disposal facility on San Juan Road in Hollister, which then spread to nearby vegetation. Fire officials say spot fires in the vegetation have been contained but the blaze, so far, has damaged at least 50 to 75% of the building and has caused at least $300,000 worth of damage. A precautionary alert has been issued warning people in the area to shut their windows and doors. As of yet, no injuries have been reported and no evacuations have been ordered.
