Fire crews from Central Fire Protection district responded to a wild-fire that broke out in a eucalyptus grove in Soquel yesterday. The trees off of Soquel Avenue and Greenbrae Lane caught fire at 9:30 p.m. Fire crews were able to contain the fire before any houses were damaged, however they did encounter a hornet’s nest during the battle, and 3-firefighters were stung. Crews returned to the scene at 12:40 a.m. today, to cool off coals and soak the area, after embers had re-ignited. About a quarter of an acre was burned.
