A 40-year old parolee was tased and arrested last night after allegedly fighting with a Salinas police officer. The 8:21 p.m. incident took place when David Darcus was walking in the area of the Travel Inn Hotel on the 400 block of Monterey Street, when he retreated back into the parking lot area upon spotting a patrol car. Police say that once they contacted Darcus, he became combative and agitated when officers started to search him, and then bit and punched an officer. Darcus was booked into Monterey County Jail.
