An 80-acre prescribed burn,is slated to take place outside of Carmel tomorrow (thurs). The burn, which is aimed at suppressing weed vegetation and stimulate native plant growth, is expected to occur on the Brazil Ranch during daylight hours about 13.5 miles south of Carmel, weather permitting. Officials with Los Padres National Forest say that highway-1 in the area, could be affected by the prescribed burn, and smoke is expected to be visible for miles.
