A Seaside man was acquitted yesterday of assault to commit rape and attempted rape for a 2009 crime. 54-year old Richard Lansing was charged with pushing a woman to the ground then punching and kicking her after she refused to have sex with him. Lansing, meanwhile, has been convicted of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury for the August 14th incident. He awaits sentencing slated for July 22nd, and faces a maximum 11-year prison sentence.
