A Monterey County woman was arrested this week in Santa Cruz after crashing her vehicle prior to leading officers on a cross-county chase. The pursuit began when 19-year old Carrie Combs was spotted by a C-H-P officer littering out of her car while traveling on Ocean Street around 11:20 p.m. Combs, who then drove onto southbound Highway-1 evading the officer’s attempts to pull her over, led police into Watsonville where she hit a traffic signal, fled on foot and was caught nearby. Combs was treated for moderate injuries at a nearby hospital before being booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on multiple charges including suspicion of driving under the influence.
