A grant to help provide more safety on Capitola streets was awarded this week by the California Office of Traffic Safety. The just over $53,000 grant was one of the 198 grants offered statewide and is expected to be used for speed awareness and child safety seat programs, along with speed enforcement and safety seats for certain Capitola families. Funding for the grant is provided by Federal sources.
