Officials in King City last night approved spending $10,000 to hire an outside consultant to help investigate complaints about the city’s police department. The vote comes after many residents voiced their concerns over the police department’s performance saying that they don’t trust the officers and believe they’re not doing a good enough job at keeping the community safe. Over 200 people attended the city’s council meeting last night. One main issue cited by residents was the department’s failure to make arrests in the city’s 4 homicides this past year.
