No contest pleas were entered by 2 Castroville women who were charged with stabbing a Watsonville woman and leaving her in a field along Highway 156 last year. 39-year old Lynda Hernandez and 18-year old Sadie Stephens were arrested last June after a motorist found the 35-year old victim near the highway at Monterey Street with stab wounds all over her body. The woman survived, meanwhile Hernandez and Stephens are charged with kidnapping with great bodily injury, the use of a weapon and intimidating a witness. Stephens faces 8 years in prison, meanwhile Hernandez faces 11 years. Sentencing is slated for August 12th.
