Human powered pedi-cabs began operating in Capitola yesterday. The new “Tiki-Cab” service, expects to operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 7 days a week, shuttling locals and tourists to various locations in and around the Capitola Village during the summer, along with offering a pick-up and drop-off service for locals. There are no set fees for the service, drivers will rely mostly on tips from riders. The idea for the new service came after a Capitola resident (and Santa Clara County firefighter) learned about the business during a trip to San Diego last year.
